Anborn served under Faramir at Henneth Annûn. At the Forbidden Pool he saw a four-limbed figure diving like a man and thought their refuge discovered. Bow ready, he had posted able archers on both banks and sought leave to shoot, since death was the law for unbidden entry. Alone among the hunters he had glimpsed Frodo’s sly companion at dusk. On Faramir’s word he led Frodo softly to the bank and gave up his bow.
