Borondir

Borondir was a great rider of a house that claimed descent from a Northman captain once serving the Kings of old. Of six messengers sent to the Éothéod—he among the first pair on the tenth day of Súlimë—only he arrived. Near Dol Guldur his companion was shot; Borondir escaped by chance and his horse's speed, was hunted to the Gladden Fields, and forced far off the straight road. After fifteen days, two without food, he could barely speak to Eorl. On the twenty-fifth of Súlimë Eorl took his hand in pledge. Borondir also said the Lady of the Golden Wood seemed to stand with them.
