Grithnir accompanied Túrin after Morwen sent her son away, together with Gethron. Both knew Beleriand from earlier crossings and had spent their youth in Hador’s lifetime; as old men they led Túrin over the Shadowy Mountains and through Brethil to Doriath. There they lost their way until Beleg found them. Grithnir stayed with Túrin in Doriath and died there of old age and illness.
