In briefanswer capsule

Narvi was a Dwarf of Khazad-dûm and the foremost friend of Celebrimbor among them. Celebrimbor directed the crafts of Eregion and joined in a lasting partnership with that Dwarf-realm. From the exchange Eregion gained strength and Khazad-dûm gained beauty beyond what either people would have achieved apart. Gandalf later read on Moria's western doors that Narvi had fashioned them and that Celebrimbor of Hollin had designed the writing.
