In briefanswer capsule

Nellas lived in the woods of Doriath and, by Melian's charge, shadowed young Túrin on his forest wanderings. She often met him and taught him the land's wild ways and the older Sindarin of the realm. Menegroth and life under stone she refused. In later boyhood he sought her seldom, yet she kept watch unseen. Beleg eventually led her to Thingol as witness; awe of the hall nearly silenced her, and she wept after judgment.
