In brief
Ragnor stood among the twelve who still followed Barahir on Dorthonion when all others of their folk had been slain. Songs of the Noldor preserved his name with eight further devoted servants of that house: Radhruin, Dairuin, Dagnir, Gildor, Gorlim, Arthad, Urthel, and Hathaldir. Bereft of homes and of their families, cut off from Hithlum’s aid, they refused surrender and withdrew to the desolate highland above the forest.
