Sangahyando counted among Castamir's great-grandsons. With Angamaitë he directed Umbar's seaborne raiders when those men cut down Minardil at Pelargir. Minardil, Eldacar's son, was father to Telemnar, who ruled Gondor as its twenty-sixth king. In Telemnar's days a second, still heavier blow struck the realm: pestilence rode dark eastern winds, carrying off the sovereign, every child of his house, and vast throngs of subjects, above all among the dwellers of Osgiliath.
