The Elendili were the smaller party among the people of Númenor when the realm divided under King Tar-Ancalimon. They were called the Elf-friends and also named themselves the Faithful. Though they stayed loyal to the King and the House of Elros, they sought the friendship of the Eldar and heeded the counsel of the Lords of the West. Even so, the fear of death troubled them as it did their people.
