Ascar is the northernmost of the six tributaries that reach Gelion from the Ered Luin. It later received the name Rathlóriel. Those mountain streams descend steeply and run with strong current. Between Ascar to the north and Adurant to the south, and between Gelion and the Blue Mountains, lies Ossiriand, the Land of Seven Rivers.
