Parma Eldalamberon 12: Qenyaqetsa

The twelfth issue of the journal Parma Eldalamberon prints in full the notebook Christopher Tolkien called the 'Qenya Lexicon': a phonology, a dictionary of some 3,000 entries, and a brief history of the language, written while Tolkien was a student and a soldier. The editors' introduction dates the manuscript, describes its pencil and ink layers, and sets it beside the Gnomish Lexicon of 1917 published as Parma Eldalamberon 11. This encyclopedia cites the introduction, not the word-list: the Qenya of 1915 is an early stage that Tolkien largely abandoned, and its forms are not the Quenya of the published books.
