In brief
Fram, son of Frumgar who guided his folk into Éothéod, appears in northern lays still kept in Rohan. He destroyed Scatha of Ered Mithrin and freed the country from long-worms. Spoil from the dragon made him rich; the Dwarves demanded that wealth as their own. He refused every coin and answered with a collar of Scatha's teeth, scorning their vaults. Some report they killed him over the slight. Little goodwill linked Éothéod and the Dwarves.
