In briefanswer capsule

Helm Hammerhand, ninth King of the Mark (TA 2691–2759), was harsh and of uncommon strength. He had no confidence in Freca, a magnate on the Adorn reputed of Dunlending stock and linked to Fréawine. When Freca sought Helm's daughter for his son Wulf and insulted the king in council, Helm took him alone outside Edoras and killed him with a fist-blow. He outlawed Wulf and related kin and sent riders to the western frontier.
