Eärnil II, of the Dúnedain, was thirty-first king of Gondor and a descendant of Telumehtar Umbardacil. As the commander who had won the field he obtained the crown in 1945 of the Third Age, one year after Ondoher and both sons of Ondoher had been slain in battle. He died in 2043 of the Third Age. After Eärnur’s death in 2050 the royal line ceased until Elessar Telcontar in 3019; the Stewards then ruled.
